Ships Point is a 13-acre estate at the confluence of the Tred Avon River and Trippe Creek with more than a half-mile of shoreline. Once the site of one of the largest shipyards on the Eastern Shore where frigates were built to battle the pirates back in the 17th century.
The main house, originally constructed in the 1920’s, underwent a complete renovation/restoration utilizing modern construction techniques to assure it will survive another hundred years. Geothermal system and many sustainability measures create a highly energy efficient home.
The T- shaped plan with its narrow cross section affords cross ventilation and water views from most rooms. At each end, private suites were created, each with views in three directions. A fourth suite is located above the restored living room with custom millwork, showcasing the craftmanship that defines the home. An existing outbuilding was converted to a garage, gym, and manager’s office.
