WIEDEMANN ARCHITECTS is a full-service architectural firm with over 35 years of award-winning design experience, ranging from new homes, estates, and residential additions to large institutional and commercial projects. The firm’s portfolio includes both traditional and modern work, with a particular expertise in creating seamless additions that are sympathetic to older structures—“additions so seamless they look as if they have always been there.”

Beyond comprehensive architectural services, the firm provides feasibility studies, programming, site planning, master planning, urban design, and interior design. Wiedemann Architects brings a breadth of experience and a consistent standard of excellence, reflected in its numerous architectural awards.

Principal Gregory Wiedemann, FAIA, holds degrees in Mathematics and Urban Planning and in Civil Engineering from Tufts University, both magna cum laude, and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. At Harvard, he received the AIA Medal as the top-ranked architecture student, a Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowship, and an Architectural Award from the National Society of Arts & Letters, and was a Graham Foundation Scholar. He was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 2021.

Before founding Wiedemann Architects in 1984, Gregory was a partner at Muse-Wiedemann Architects, recognized as a leading design firm in the Washington area, and previously worked with Frank Schlesinger Architects on prominent projects including National Place, Holy Name Friary, and the U.S. Embassy Marine Guard Quarters in Haiti. He has also taught at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture and at Johns Hopkins University, where his academic work received multiple regional and national honors, including an ACSA International Design Competition award and a national AIA Education Honor Award.

Mr. Wiedemann is NCARB certified and is a licensed architect in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, and New York.
